Fish on!

Muskie are great fresh water predators at the top of the food chain in their habitat. Once you've experienced the thrill of battle with one of these monsters you'll never forget it. This piece is a dimensional relief we have been commissioned for as part of a resort lake residence sign. We'll post the completed project later but for now we wanted to share our Mahogany Muskie with you. It measures 22" nose to tail, cnc routed in 1,1/4" thick African Mahogany and finished with a tung oil.

A Caul to action

That stack of forms you see below is a combination of bending forms and arch blanks. This caul is ready for the lamination layers to be assembled, glued, and clamped to create the arched door jamb it was made for.
Count on Wellhouse Woodworks for precision arch blanks, cauls, or unique shapes to increase factory throughput and make your fabrication process more cost effective.

Of Mice & Men; Rats & Machines

There seems to be no end to the unique applications we somehow get involved with. This is one you certainly have heard about but probably never realized the lengths folks will go to in the name of research. Yes these are Mice and Rat scientific research cages. They still are trying to determine the effects of "RF" radio frequency waves on humans. You know; the stuff that radiates from your cell phones.
Our part of the story is represented in these photos of slotted and drilled polypropylene and polycarbonate covers on the yellow fiberglass frame that holds the "non-metalic" cages. It seems those pesky rodents have a propensity for chewing through just about anything. This is one attempt to contain them a little longer in a Non Metalic cage.
Not sure what to think of the application but we certainly were proud to make a contribution to science. If we can help you on your next "unique application" drop us a note.

Cauls, Clamping forms, & Shapes to make your job easier

Besides our custom Arch fabrication, we also support other moulding and millwork shops. It seems we are pretty good at making precision custom forms, arch blanks, and clamping forms some of our customers find very helpful and cost effective.
Rather than taking valuable journeymen's time to cut, saw, or route these "single use production forms", we import dimensional drawings and run them on our CNC machine. The customer receives perfect forms in hours or days. That way the skilled folks in the shop can get the serious work done with bending, laminating, and profiling.
It's been said that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder",and we think these forms are beautiful.
